History of the Ruwoldt family in Australia

This site is for the Ruwoldt family to document their history in Australia.
NEWS:
Australian Farmer of the Year - Robert Ruwoldt, Glenvale Farms in Wimmera, Victoria
Ruwoldt Family History is being prepared by Kev and Anne Ruwoldt (in Qld) and will be available in 2014.

Historical Notes

What we don't know about our German ancestors:
"Third Generation back in Germany
Samuel Ruwolt 3 ? Born: approximately 1700 in Satow-Niederhagen 3

Second Generation back in Germany
Joachim RUWOLT 3 Born: approximately 1720? died 4 December 1786 in Satow (according to the funeral register). Joachim was the 'mayor' of Satow-Niederhagen.

OUR problem is that the Ruwoldt family has little public history in Satow, i.e not destroyed in any war. Of this parish, (only) church records from 1740 have survived. We can not search for the birth dates of Samuel and Joachim Ruwolt.

Compare what the Ende family genealogy shows about their Ruwolt/Rewolt/Rowolt/Ruwoldt ancestors in the same village of Satow, which only has a population of hundreds anyway (almost 2000 people in the area of villages of this 'Free' group of towns).

The Ruwoldt Family in Australia

Johann Joachim Peter Christian Ruwoldt married Catherina Lisette Maria Gebhard.
They traveled to South Australia in 1848 with their three sons and the rest is, as we say, is history.

Sorry Ms Bates, the Ruwolts/Ruwoldts arrived from Mecklenburg, now a German State, but never part of Prussia.
Mecklenburg remained independent until the unification of Germany in 1871.
Mecklenburgers (who spoke 'low German'') lived in the poorest part of Germany (and were only invaded by the Napoleonic French)
